IMC has narrowly missed scooping a National Recycling Award announced at a prestigious awards ceremony at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
Amongst the 15 Award winners IMC was one of only 3 entrants to achieve "Highly Commended" recognition, awarded to companies who the judges considered to have run the winners extremely close.
IMC's entry into the Award category of "Best New Technology" featured its pioneering "Compod" food waste to compost system, the first example of which currently recycles 100 plus tonnes of food waste per year at Imperial College London's South Kensington campus.
The event palyed host to more than 660 recycling and waste management professionals and was compered by comedian, actor and satirist, Marcus Brigstocke.
The National Recycling Awards are administered by MRW in association with UPM and recognise the best of the UK's waste management and recycling industry. They reward and support the efforts of Local Authorities and Councils, as well as the construction and retail sectors, with the waste management community fully recognised, rewarded and represented.
