IMC may be Hong Kongs food waste saviour
IMC has revealed its multi award winning food waste recycling solution at Imperial College to a delegation from Hong Kong.
IMC’s equipment is located in its own purpose-built building on the Campus and is known as the “CompPod”. It converts around 50 tonnes of food waste a year into high quality compost which is then used on Imperial’s grounds.

Representing Delta Pyramax, a renowned manufacturer and supplier of environmental systems with offices in Hong Kong, China and Macau, Managing Director, John Lau, had been made aware of IMC’s system by a compatriot who, earlier this year, had attended a presentation made by IMC as part of the London Mayor’s C40 International Conference on tackling climate change.

Mr Lau explained: “Hong Kong has a huge problem with food waste. Landfill capacity is expected to run out in just 5 years. We see real potential in IMC’s solution to this problem and are looking forward to progressing this initiative in our core markets.”
