IMC joins forces with the Armed Services
IMC took the opportunity at the Combined Services Culinary Challenge (CSCC) Exhibition at the end of September to promote to the Armed Services its much lauded food waste recycling installation at the Defence Food Services School. The School, which was completed early last year on the MoD’s estate at Worthy Down, uses IMC’s equipment to recycle the 1.5 tonnes of food waste that it generates each day into high quality compost. The compost has passed the industry standard BSI PAS100 test for compost with flying colours, ensuring that it is safe for general, widespread use as a soil improver and conditioner on the site’s grounds.

CSCC comprised 3 days of catering competitions, with a day dedicated to each of the 3 Armed Services. Last year’s winners, from the RAF, once again repeated their victory but this year had to share the spoils with the Army.
