Efficient bars: Central to the catering scheme in Old Trafford’s new quadrant stands Recent record-breaking attendances at Manchester United’s Old Trafford are the result of two newly-built quadrant stands. The North East and North West Stands flank the existing North Stand and provide high-earning executive dining and bar facilities with additional seating for 7,000 spectators. A complex £950,000 catering scheme built on seven levels - broadly mirrored in each quadrant - was designed by Tricon Foodservice Consultants and supplied, project managed and installed by Chester-based C&C Catering Equipment. Winchester Student Union: Winning the battle in fighting off the high street The proliferation of high street bars with their drinks deals and promotions are directly affecting the student union bars around the country. Fortunately there is a way of fighting back. The newly opened Terrace and Vault bars at Winchester are a fantastic example. Tom Manville runs the Terrace Bar which is their main day bar and also the 2 bars located in the Vault, a 600 capacity multi purpose event venue, with the latter being utilised by the university itself to host conferences and seminars.
